Installation

Download FCHub, install it, switch it on, open it. Four steps, none of them interesting, which is the point.

What you need

RequirementVersion
WordPress6.4 or newer
PHP8.1 or newer
FluentCartNot required

That is the whole list. No account, no licence key, no API credentials, no ceremonial handshake.

FCHub asks for less than the products it manages

Some products in the suite need WordPress 6.7 and PHP 8.3. FCHub deliberately does not — it should be installable on the site that is behind, so it can tell you what that site is missing. See what each product needs.

You will also need an administrator account. Installing, updating, and switching plugins on and off are the things WordPress reserves for administrators, and FCHub does not invent a way around that.

Download

FCHub ships as an ordinary WordPress plugin ZIP:

Download v1.0.0 — grab fchub-1.0.0.zip from the release page.

Install it

Upload the ZIP

In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin, click Upload Plugin, choose the file you just downloaded, and click Install Now.

Activate

Click Activate Plugin. An FCHub item appears in the admin sidebar with three entries under it: Overview, Products, and System.

Open it

Click FCHub. The Overview loads, reads the product list, and tells you where you stand. When nothing needs you it says so — Everything is ticking along nicely — which is the most boring sentence in the plugin and the one I am proudest of.

On a brand-new site it will have rather more to say: nothing from the suite is installed yet, and anything waiting on FluentCart or a newer PHP will name what it is waiting for. The list is there so you know what exists. No pressure.

If you would rather move files around yourself:

  1. Unzip the download on your machine
  2. Upload the fchub folder to /wp-content/plugins/
  3. Go to Plugins in WordPress admin and activate FCHub

What happens next

Nothing dramatic. FCHub reads the product list, works out what is installed on this site, and renders it. It does not install anything, enable anything, or change a single product setting until you press a button that says it will.

If your site cannot reach the internet at that moment, FCHub falls back to the product list that shipped inside it and carries on. The screen still works. See System for how it tells you which list you are looking at.

Keeping FCHub updated

FCHub updates arrive through WordPress like any other plugin — the Plugins screen, the Updates screen, or WP-CLI. The System page carries a link straight to the WordPress Updates screen for the days you cannot be bothered to find it.

FCHub does not update itself behind your back, and it never updates a product without being asked.

Removing it

Deactivate or delete FCHub whenever you like. Every product stays installed, stays switched on, and keeps its data. FCHub tidies up after itself and touches nothing else — see Troubleshooting for the full account.
